Welcome to the Eastern Orangeburg County Sustainability Study website! Orangeburg County, with funding provided in part through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program offered through the South Carolina Department of Commerce, and with assistance from the Lower Savannah Council of Governments and the Orangeburg County Economic Development Commission, has developed a Sustainability Study that provides a roadmap for the region's future. The study provides communities in eastern Orangeburg County with strategic and sustainable tools for guiding new development and creating a higher quality of life for area residents.
Spurred by development of the Global Logistics Triangle and its unprecedented economic opportunities, the Eastern Orangeburg County Sustainability Study was developed using a sustainable planning approach that balances social, economic, and environmental assets in the region. This plan was developed, and will be owned and implemented by the people of eastern Orangeburg County.
The Eastern Orangeburg County Sustainability Study focuses on the proposed Global Logistics Triangle bound by I-26, I-95, and U.S. 301 and surrounding unincorporated areas as well as Elloree, Santee, Vance, Eutawville, Holly Hill, and Bowman.
